Meet in front of Paws & Claws, 3436 Dimond Ave., off Mac Arthur Blvd. at 9am. Some tools will be provided, but we recommend bringing gloves.

Following the clean-up, there will be Romano’s pizza for humans, treat goody bags for dogs & cats, plus a chance to win a earth friendly pet gift basket!

Sixty Sequoia Elementary School students have been practicing hard for many weeks with one goal in mind. These young stars will dazzle the audience with their variety of talents, from Song & Dance, to Comedy & Magic, to Martial Arts & Plate Spinning (yes, you read that right), and more. (Performers will meet for one last mandatory rehearsal on Thursday at 6:30pm.)

The show is this Friday, March 15th. Doors open at 5:45pm and the lights fade promptly at 6:30pm. Come early to buy tickets ($5 adults, $2 kids, free for pre-K), get Chinook books, socialize, and grab good seats. You can also buy raffle tickets for exciting prizes! Winning raffle numbers will be called throughout the show. We’ll also be selling refreshments at the intermission.

We hope to see you there!

Since 2008, Dimond Improvement Association (DIA) Board Member Kathleen Russell has organized and led litter walks and other beautification projects in Dimond, collecting over six thousand pounds of litter per year from our streets. Her efforts, and the many volunteers who join her, have made a huge positive contribution to the Dimond Business District. While some of them were slated for the neighborhood by the Fruitvale Alive! project, Stan Dodson, DB&PA Co-chair and La Farine Bakery Manager, and Bruce Stoffmacher from Councilmember Schaaf’s office, were able to get a few extras installed near Farmer Joe’s Marketplace, La Farine Bakery, and popular coffee shops.
